Resumen

“Until a couple of decades ago, a very narrow approach to development prevailed in cooperation institutions: this was considered to be a strictly economic issue and that societies' s problems had to do with low levels of consumption, resulting from a lack of economic efficiency and insufficient capacity to produce marketable surpluses. This notion has changed considerably. Today there is a consensus to consider development from aspects related to the economy, but also to the roles and capacities of people, the dynamics of territories and institutional governance, among other aspects that influence their well-being." An article that challenges and promotes the application of the gender approach within development projects based on the analysis of their challenges still pending after 25 years of equity.
